Next to Niko is "Henri" - a doll that really pees (I think his name is actually "Peter Potty"). For months, we've read a book about Henry who learns to go potty and becomes a big boy. It was worth a try. The novelty lasted all of about a week. Niko was relatively successful going pee in the toilet for a couple weeks, but we've "petered" out for the last couple of weeks. I guess we're doomed to have 3 boys in diapers for a little while.

I made some chocolate pudding that was in the fridge. With Niko's love for all things yogurt, I should have anticipated that he would get into some while I was putting Sam down for a nap.

I thought the toy cupboard was a little roomy...
then I found this little stash under the kitchen table.

We have officially established that Niko is allergic to cats, just like Maman. I have visit taught a sister in our ward who has cats for months. Niko always loves to hold them and chase them around. This time, he must have rubbed his eyes because he could barely open them. What a good sport!
One of my favorite times of day is right before naps and bed time. I prepare "du lait pour les gas" (milk for the guys) and make them sit on either side of me. I love snuggling with both of them, even with Matt smooshed in the middle. :)
Niko loves his new class at church - Sunbeams!
When we pick him up after class, he says,
"Niko aime bien some beans!" (Niko really likes some beans!)

And finally, the traumatic highlight of the month: Niko joins the head injury club (Sam is president). One night the last week of January, Niko was especially tired and cranky and clumsy. I was turning around to pick him up, put him on my lap, and sing him to sleep when he tripped over his own feet and hit his head on the rocking chair. Since my boys bonk quite often I didn't think much of it. When the blood began spilling off his face, I knew it wasn't the normal bonk.
Papa took him to the ER and they glued his eyebrow together. Niko was an angel and was home about an hour later with his prized Spiderman stickers. He seems to be healing nicely.
Pregnancy update: I am now 37 weeks, which my doctor considers "full term" so we're hoping for a delivery any day now. For the past 4-5 days, though, I have been on self-imposed bed rest so that I wouldn't have the baby before February 1st when our new insurance takes effect. We're now totally fine to go into labor, so we'll keep you posted as to when that happens. In the mean time, assume no baby, please. :)
