Announcing...

Many thanks to my sister-in-law, Angi, for taking so many lovely pictures of our new little Matthieu (I'll post more soon). On top of that, she put together this darling birth announcement for us in both languages. Thank you so much, Ang!

New

Matthieu Alexandre was finally encouraged to join us here in mortality on Wednesday, March 4th at 7pm. He weighed in at 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21.5 inches long. I was induced in the morning hours (should have eaten a better breakfast!), but they said I officially qualified as "in labor" for 5 hours (I love epidurals). I pushed for a grand total of 5 minutes and there he was! It surprised me how surprised I was to see him for the first time. Our little purple baby - right there on my tummy!!

The above pics were taken by my sister-in-law Angi - thank you so much for those, Ang!

Our first night, just hours after Matt's birth, both of his grandmothers were able to come to hospital, as well as Tata Ang, but I didn't get pictures of them with Matt. We had more visitors the following day.

Niko and Sam loved Maman's cool bed...

I have to share a couple of quotes from our dear, articulate Olivier:

"I totally like him!"

"He just... likes me!"

Pointing to the swaddled Matt: "Is he naked in there?"

"He moved!"

"When he's 2, I'll be older. When he's 100, I'll be 104."

Thanks so much for the smiles, Ollie!

41+

Really pregnant...

My mom has now been here for a week, waiting patiently with me for Matt to decide he's ready. We've done our best to encourage him with herbal supplements and some mall walking. The boys enjoyed playing on our mall outings:

Pretty big...

Even bigger from the side :)

They seem to manage to snuggle with me around my tummy.
I love it. :)

Le train was the favorite

Mr. Orange had to try the orange motorcycle

And here the boys were being silly, sitting on
their helium balloons they got when we went to
Sunflower last week. Boing... boing...

41 weeks and counting... still smiling... :)
