We had some great talks in church today about the true gifts of Christmas. I love being reminded of the real meaning of Christmas. My favorite quote from a couple of the talks was "There wouldn't be a Christmas without Easter." Without the Atonement and the Great Sacrifice of our Savior, He would have been "just another baby born in Bethlehem." I need to qualify my endorsement of the preceding quotes: I actually think that He was ordained to His mortal mission from His birth, but the important principle is that it's what Christ did for each of God's children that makes us celebrate His birth. I am so grateful for my Savior and for His guidance in my life. I pray that I may prove myself worthy of being His disciple.
We also were able to attend most of Pat Pelissie's sacrament meeting today. She sang "Ave Maria" so beautifully. Yes, it may not have been the most reverent thing to do, but I video recorded her performance for posterity (see below).
And, finally, just as we got home from GiGi's (Pat's), Chris pulled up, having finished his church responsibilities. He played with Niko for a few minutes in the truck. What fun those two have together!

Thank you for recording that! And for the record, you were very reverent!
