Dorking

There have been a couple of smirks when we talk about how Vero lives in "Dorking" but I'm here to tell you it is one of the most adorable, family-friendly little towns I've ever spent time in. It has every amenity one could need, but within a few minutes' walk or drive, you're in the middle of gorgeous, Surrey countryside. It was so Jane Austen!

Just down this way is Tata and Jake's house

This is a 15th century pub made out of recycled timbers from a 13th century ship...

...you can almost see the timbers on the ceiling look like the inside of a ship.

So quaint. It never ceases to amaze me how small and crowded places like this can be.
Vero told me that Dorking was one of the more important market towns from the middle ages so there is a lot of history here.

This is a walk from "town" past St. Martin's Church to the playground.

St. Martin's has been worshipped in for about 1,000 years. Incredible!

Back at Ton ton Jake's, they had a blast playing with the Cars toys in the garden.

Niko was very clear about wanting to play with Jake by himself.

"Little" Jess Madsen (Jake's half sister)
Niko was only 9 months old the last time she saw him.
He warmed up to her again very quickly. :)
