Cooking

I did a lot of cooking during the last couple of days before Christmas. I overdid it a little physically, but was pleased that the food all turned out ok.

I wanted to do something special for my brother-in-law, Marc, for his birthday. I was able to pull off making these for him. I think he liked them. :)

Chocolate mousse

I had a lot of egg whites leftover from other cooking I have been doing. One of the recipes I found for egg whites was chocolate mousse. I didn't realize it was as involved as it turned out to be, but it did turn out, rich and yummy.

When I mixed everything together, it was really soupy. I thought that I failed. I still put it in the glasses and refrigerated it and lo, and behold! It worked! We enjoyed it for dessert for Christmas Eve lunch with Ashton and Bran (topped with cool whip to temper the richness). :)

Bread

We ran out of bread and I wasn't sure when we would be going to the store next, so I made some mini loaves of honey wheat bread.
