Prepared for an emergency

I don't know if we're ever totally prepared for an emergency, but I feel a lot more prepared after yesterday. Chris and Genn joined Marc and Angi at their house for some serious canning. Collectively, we canned almost an entire pallet (over 450 cans) with various long term food storage items such as white wheat, black beans, garbanzo beans, brown rice, white rice, potato flakes, apple slices, and I'm sure several others, but my brain is a bit fried at the moment. My hands are still a bit raw from operating the canner and I'm sure we're all a little achy from being on our feet all day. It feels really good to have such a huge part of the job done, though. Yeah!

Push for three turns...

...pull for three turns. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat...

Thanks, Angi, for taking and sharing the pictures of the day!
