Perseverance is not a long race:
it is many short races, one after another.
-- Walter Elliot
I just got back from the gym this morning and found this quote in my email inbox. I hope to do some races this summer, so the "race" analogy hit home with me. More importantly, I'm thinking about the principle of continuous effort. We get "breaks" once in a while, in between races, but the key is to keep going and improving from race to race, be it in relationships, interactions, altercations, celebrations, service, or potty training attempts. Just a glimpse of my morning musing...
